Anthropologie et histoire des mondes antiques - ANHIMA
The Anthropologie et histoire des mondes antiques (ANHIMA)/Anthropology and History of Ancient Societies Center, covers the study of ancient Mediterranean societies including: territorial and political organization, material environments, belief systems and practices, cultures, knowledge and traditions, by bringing together text and images.
Our research combines the technical expertise of first-hand work on ancient sources with broader historical and anthropological approaches. We use social sciences and comparative methodologies to understand ancient cultures from within, on their own terms, through investigating their cultural uniqueness.
The ANHIMA Center welcomes specialists working Greek and Roman societies as well as those working on the Jewish world, Ancient India, and other ancient societies.
